In this paper, I also introduced the Oki Kokubunji document and considered the trends of Oki Kokubunji in the 14th to 16th centuries.
Oki Kokubunji in the 15th century had grown into a leading lord in the Oki Islands. However, he is negotiating a reduction or exemption with Kyogoku clan, who is trying to strengthen the collection of money in the territory. Kyogoku clan, who caused the opposition of various forces in the territory, softened his attitude, and Oki Kokubunji was also able to obtain results in negotiations.
The temple declined at the beginning of the 16th century, but with the support of Oki clan, Oki Kokubunji was rebuilt. Since then, it seems that he has strengthened his relationship with Oki clan to control the temples under his control. However, this actled to Oki clan’s intervention. However, the temple did not serve only Oki clan religiously, but also gathered faith from local residents and itinerant religious people. In addition to its role as a guardian state since ancient times, it has responded widely to religious needs from growing classes.
