Abstract |
I translated six poems on cats into Japanese with notes: George Turberville’s ‘The Louer whose Mistresse feared a Mouse, declareth that he would become a Cat, if he might haue his desire’, William Carlos Williams’s ‘The Young Cat and the Chrysanthemums’, Stevie Smith’s ‘The Singing Cat’, Thom Gunn’s ‘Apartment Cats’, Eamon Grennan’s ‘Cat Scat’, and Dana Gioia’s ‘Alley Cat Love Song’.
