Abstract
The Arukidani uranium ore deposit located in the southern part of Kurayoshi City, Tottori Prefecture is one of three ore deposits of the Kurayoshi Mine. This deposit consisting of three veins named Ichigo-hi, Nigo-hi and Hon-pi is developed in the corse-grained biotite granite of the Ogamo type. These three veins are grouped into a sort of hydrothermal deposit developed in the brecciated fault zone with the trend pointing to N 40°~70° E in congruence nearly with that of joints observed in the granite, revealing a certain connection with these joint system. The ore minerals obtained from the deposit are as follows: pyrite, sphalerite, galena, arsenopyrite and chalcopyrite. Coffinite and autunite mentionable as minerals bearing uranium, the contents of which are estimated 0.01~0.05 per cent or less than this amount in the veins under consideration.
