Abstract
Specimens of Onchocleidus dispar Mueller, 1936 were collected from the gills of bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) caught in Budo Reservoir, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. This is the first record of O. dispar from Japan and Asia. The species is very likely to have been brought along with the bluegill from the central U.S.A. to Japan in 1960.
