Problems and Perspectives of Life Management Theory

This paper examines the problems of life management theory and shows the directions of researches in this field. I examine the directions of research in home management theory, which is antecedents of life management theory. There are three directions of research in home management theory. The first direction is to make clear the problems of people's family lives in terms of time use, money expenditure, family relations and so on. The second direction is to examine the home management itself. Systems approach is useful in this research direction. The third direction is to explore the practice of home management. By using systems approach, I showed the examples of new home management. The interaction between home and its environment is to be taken into account. I analyze the similarities and differences between home management theory and life management theory. Management of family life is focused in home management theory. Rather, management of life of independent individual is focused in life management theory.
