国立大学図書館協会海外派遣事業による第一回海外派遣者として, イリノイ大学モーテンソンセンター主催のFall 2006 Associates Programに参加した。このプログラムは, 国際的な図書館員の継続研修を目的とし, 主として1)講義, 2)図書館・関係団体訪問, 3)イリノイ大学図書館員による各図書館業務についてのプレゼンテーション, 4)他図書館での短期宿泊研修で構成される。プログラムの概要を報告し, 評価を試みる。

The author had an opportunity to participate in the Fall 2006 Associates Program, the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs, University of Illinois, through the Overseas Training Project of the Japan Association of National University Libraries. The goal of this program is to provide professional development opportunities for librarians around the world, primarily through 1) lectures, 2) site visits to libraries and related organizations, 3) presentations of works by the librarians of the University of Illinois Libraries, and 4) short-term internships at other libraries. This paper presents a summary and the assessment of the program.
