Abstract |
The aim of this paper is to consider meaning of the narrative world at nursery from children's point of views. This study, particularly, focuses on the narrative world, which brings about fear by emergence of "ONI", a demon that should be away at "SETSUBUN", one of annual events. Therefore, It will be explained the following two concepts by fieldwork research: how narrative world would be formed at nursery, and would be given meaning by children. This research had been conducted at a private nursery in the Chugoku district through January until April in 2007. The observation was mostly based on a three-year-old child class, even occasionally a four or five-year-old child class. Additionally, it was conducted informal interviews with some nursery teachers. As a result, it was found that at nursery the narrative world had been formed by children and nursery teachers each other. Eventually, children had identified his or her growth throughout this world, although children had struggled against the difference between fiction and reality in it.
