Abstract
In this paper, I make it my chief aim to bring light on the actual conditions of the dialect distribution of the inviting expression in the Chūbu Areas in Japan and to consider the histroy of the distribution. 1) A Study on the dialect distributions of 'ikamai', 'ikomai', and 'ikumai' in those areas. The results obtained are as follows; 1) 'ikomai' is newer than 'ikamai'. --- 'ikamai' > 'ikomai' 2) 'ikumai' is newer than 'ikamai'. --- 'ikamai' > 'ikumai' 3) 'ikomai' is newer than 'ikumai'. --- 'ikumai' > 'ikomai' However, I defer it until a more opportune time to determine 'ikomai' > 'ilumai'. 2) A study on the dialect distributions of these inviting expressions in those areas; 'ikazu' 'ikazā' 'ikiyashō' 'ikimashō' 'ilubē' "ebe" 'ikaʡ '. In this chapter, the dialect distributions and the history and the usage of them are described. 3) A Study on the inviting expressions on the Dialects of Nakasendō Area. In Nakasendō Area from Kyōto to Tokyō, an inviting form ''~mai" is described. As the result, expressing forms "~mai" are heard from "Mieji" in Gifu Prefecture to "Niekawa" in Nagano Prefecture.
