This is an examination of the activities of Keijo Shurin (景徐周鱗) (1140-1518) in the year 2 of the Entoku (延徳) Period (1490). Keijo was living at Daitokuin Monastery (大徳院) in the Shoukokuji Temple (相国寺). His involvement in temple was increasing year by year and he had become very busy. So, he was annoyed and embarrassed by becoming a nominee for the envoy to the kingdom of Min (the region present-day China). After all, he refused the mission, this incident made it clear that he was poor health and knew nothing about the world. As for his religious activities on his own sect, this work investigates his activities as head priest of Daitokuin Monastery. His relationship with Kisen Shushou (亀泉集証), head of Inryouken house-hold (蔭涼軒), and Ousen Keisan (横川景三), head of Shouhoken house-hold (小補軒), was as close as the previous year. lt was increasing that he took part in Gozan (五山) sect's most important Buddhist services. As for his contacts with military family, he establishes a close relationship with Hosokawa Masakuni (細川政国) as in other years. And this work specifies that he has a close connection with the Takeda family in the Wakasa country (若狭国). About his literary activities, the quantity is rather smaller than in other years. I suppose, This is caused by the decease of Ashikaga Yoshimasa (足利義政) on January 7, and the change of political power. The trial of the 'ten-subject poetry' (「十題詩」) stored in No. 565-574, and No. 597-606 is observed in a poetic work. Tougen Zuisen (桃源瑞仙) began the trial of ten-subject poetry, and Keijo which acknowledged his student succeeded to this trial faithfully. He composed poetry about the conduct of Tougen while in life, and his work in which the influence was shown clearly is included. Keijo made various works, for example, geju (偈頌), essay (文), syo (疏), zou-san(像賛), hinko-hougo (秉炬法語), nenkou-hougo (枯香法語), besides poetry. He was requested to make works for various purposes, at various opportunities. Then, he had been mature more and more as a bonze of letters.
