Lately two kinds of definition are seen in the euphemistic expressions. One is regarded as the bending method based on rhetoric. The other is known to resemble the curving line by the theory of Gengokateisetsu. But the author has a different idea with them. He thinks that the euphemistic expression is settled to evade conflict with hearers. Analyzing the Tomiyama-village dialect, 10 kinds of category in the 4 types of euphemistic group are found in this paper.
