Abstract
Conclusions obtained from this study are as follows. I In the field of accents; 1) Mixed conditions of East and West accents in Japan are found between Moriyama and Mieji in Nakasenō Areas. The accents of Samegai situated at the middle of those two places, are Keihan accents mixed with Tōkyō accents. 2) Accents of Kōnosu in Saitama Prefecture have particular features different from those at other twelve places. Vague accents are found at that place. II In the field of grammar; 1) There are many contrasts of the grammatical phenomena between the west of Mitake and the east of Magome. A border line between Gife Prefecture and Nagano Prefecturc lies there; and a division line of East and West Dialects in Japan which was discovered in Meiji Era by an Investigation Committee of Japanese, exist there, too. But through this study, it is recognized clearly that far many contrasts of grammatical phenomena are found at the places between Mitake and Niekawa. Boundary zones of East and West Dialects in Japan are recognized along Kiso Way. This paper is a part of "A Dialect-Geographical Study on Dialects of Chūbu Areas in Japan", and also a part of "A Study of Generative Histories on Dialects in Japan".
