A Learning Framework Based on the Structure of Qualities and Abilities in Junior High School Technology Education

Abstract
We aimed to develop a learning framework corresponding to the new course of study. The learning framework focuses on the acquisition of qualities and abilities through systematic and methodical learning. Referring to prior studies and the previously reported structure of qualities and abilities, we created a framework. It includes the following steps:“ the formation of a relationship with technology,” “the acquisition of individual knowledge,” “the acquisition of conceptual knowledge,” “understanding the conditions for applying knowledge,” “using knowledge in design and planning,” “problem-solving with interactions,” “realizing future returns based on the evaluation of problem-solving,”“ realizing future returns based on the relationship between technology and life and society” and “cultivating interest through a vision of the future built by advanced technology.” In addition, from the viewpoint of utilizing this learning framework in junior high school technology education, we present a sample lesson that was created in line with the learning content of information technology and which provides a plan for instruction and evaluation.
