Eight ixodid ticks including Amblyomma testudinarium Koch, 1844, Haemaphysalis longicornis Neumann, 1901, Haemaphysalis flava Neumann, 1897, Haemaphysalis kitaokai Hoogstraal, 1969, Ixodes nipponensis Kitaoka and Saito, 1967, Ixodes ovatus Neumann, 1899, Ixodes simplex simplex Neumann, 1906, and Boophilus microplus (Canestrini, 1888), have so far been recorded from Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan (until 2003).
