Abstract
Nowadays, it seems that Japan is going to change into an era of life-education or learning-society, the tendency of which is desired by the present society. People wish to learn not only at the school, but also, if possible, fleely after graduation. The extension course of Hiroshima University by broadcasts was tried from October, 1978 to January, 1979. The present author recognized this attempt as one of epoch-making events in the developmental histories of life-education or learning-society in Japan. From this view point, the author has studied how the extension course was carried out and how the applicants to the course learned. The present paper is devided into two parts. One is the description of the extension course "Dialects and Culture" by radio. 1. A summary of the extension course 1.1 advertisements for the invitation of applicants 1.2 methods of schooling 1.3 the last examination 1.4 the certificate for the course completed 2. A study on the performance of the extension course 2.1 the objects 2.2 the view points to construct the subject . 2.3 the contents of the subject 2.4 the considerations to make the textbook 2.5 How use the textbook over the broadcasting? 2.6 the attentions to plan the radio programs 2.7 the various problems to construct the radio programs 2.8 the last examination The other is the study on the questions and opinions which the learners offered at schooling. Their questions and opinions over 90 have covered many fields in human sciences. The author classified them into 10 groups as follows; 1. The explanation of the terms 2. the pronounciation 3. the dialect grammar 4. the vocabulary 5. the phase of dialects 6. the coming up or change of dialects 7. the circulation of dialects 8. dialects, common language, standard language 9. origin of the Japanese language and dialects 10. the future of dialects and culture The applicants learned the extension course "Dialects and Culture" hard according to their purposes, and wanted to use the knowledge for their lives thereafter. ...
