Abstract
In this paper I attempt to investigate the causes how the Ch'u Dynasty could maintain its great power throughout the Ch'un ch'in period.

I study political institutions, especially, the relations of Authority of King and Hereditary Peerage of the Ch'u Dynasty, which appear in the Ts'o ch'uan (左伝).

In conclusion, I say that the Authority of King of the Ch'u Dynasty adopted traditionally the policy of preventing the Hereditary Peerage from increasing its power.
