The theme of this paper is validity of the name of the third Station (ekiya: 駅家) from the east in Bingo, which is referred to in Engishiki (延喜式) . In conclusion, the name of the Station is not "Monodo (者度)" but "Kando (看度) ". There are two grounds for it. First, Kujo-ke-bon-Engishiki, the oldest manuscript of Engishiki tells the name "Kando". Second, comparing names of the Stations and Go (郷) s in Engishiki and Wamyosho (和名抄), there is no regularity in the differences in the names. In short, the notation of "Monodo" is the wrong reproduction produced in copying the notation of "Kando". Presumed location of Kando Station is in former Mitsugi-cho, Mitsugi-gun, where the manor coiled the Kanmura-sho was later established.
