Abstract
It was a characteristic in the late of Shogunal period in Hiroshima-han to maintain and fortify a policy which put a restraint on the peasants' activity. Through that time "Gonoes" = village officials went to show noteworthy trends which are

(1) They gradually amassed large portions of land in confrontation with an abovementioned policy.

(2) They demanded an increase in their salaries which also resulted in a confrontation with han's power.

These two factors not only caused a determining conflict with Yonaoshi class but with han as well.
