The educational system of social education directors has been said to have some problems in both theory and practice. Nevertheless, not so many studies have been done on it. Few studies have dealt with the educational system, especially the training course for social education directors, while some have focused on the professionalization.
The purpose of this papar is to examine the educational effects in the training course for social education directors which was offered at Hiroshima university in August 1998. The Participants were from elememtary and secondary schools (57), social education institutions (14) and municipal governmental offices (32). We assume the competence, needed for social education directors, is constructed by three different aspects : cognitive, technical and emotional aspects. So we analysed the educational effects of the course on each aspect, comparing the results of pre- and post-test which we conducted for the participants.
The findings are as follows :
(1) The analysis revealed great differences in cognitive, technical and emotional aspects among the participants at the begining of the course.
(2) Post-test proved that the competence of participants have improved in every aspects, the high light was admitted in cognitive aspects.
(3) The extents of development in emotional aspect and SDL skills tend to be much more prescribed by participants' inclination and potentiality.
