A Study on the role which the school teacher should play as the mentor of 'a school-based initial teacher training, in england & Wales : Focusing on the teaching in physical education of the primary schools
This study aims to clarify the role which the school teacher should play as the mentor in the system of a shool-based initial teacher training, in England & Wales. The results are summarized as follows: (1)According to the case study(Mawer M.,1996a), the majority of the student teachers and the school teachers answered the following three points as the role of the mentor.(a)providing the trainee with the demonstration lessons to observe (b)providing feedback following observation of the trainee's lesson in writing or orally (c)providing the advice and the information for planning lessons (2)In the case study (mawer M.,1996b), the 550f the classroom teachers said that they could'nt play the role with confidence as the mentor in the primary schools. (3)It proposed that the school teachers should be trained for getting the skill and the strategy of mentoring.
