abstract | River bed evolution during a flood event is modeled in a quasisteady approach using a 2-D depth-averaged numerical model. It is concluded that, with respect to the numerical solution, more significant are the accuracy of flow field computations and the precision achieved in approximating the bed geometry rather than differences in sediment transport rate formulas.
