abstract | From the point of view of the search for truth, the formation of academic knowledge in universities is an international phenomenon. It is a fact that the “university is a product of the Western Middle Ages,” and even in the modern period there were no universities in Europe that were properly aware of internationalization. Researchers hoping to gain knowledge had to travel by plane or ship to the relevant seat of learning. Today, however, because of advances in information technology and satellite communication systems researchers can gain complete access to seats of learning by way of the internet. The purpose of this paper is to rethink what a university should be in the age of globalization.
