| abstract | The purpose of this paper is to compare a variety of kinds of documents written at latter term of the Heian era, and to research features among 'Waka-Kanbun'. It tries to describe the difference of the usage of four verbs ""Itaru"", ""Iru"", ""Oyobu"", and ""Nozomu"". The conclusion is as follows. 1. The verb used frequently is different according to the genre of the document. (e.g. ""Oyobu"" in Kokiroku : ""Itaru"" in Bukkyo-setsuwa and Reigenki) 2. 'Bukkyo-setsuwa' and 'Reigenki' have a feature different from another, in the point which verb to select in the context.
