カキの生理を表す数値モデルを構築し,これにカキ養殖筏内外の海水交換を与え,養殖密度がカキの成長と排糞に与える影響を検討した。カキ1個体の生長量は養殖密度が低い方が良いが,筏1台あたりのカキ生産総量は850連Raft^<-1>が最も良かった。排糞量は1個体あたりでは養殖密度が低い方が多かったが,筏1台あたりでは950連Raft^<-1>が最大となった。今回の結果からは,底質の有機汚濁について特に考慮せず,高いカキ生産量を得るのであれば,広島湾の環境条件では850連Raft^<-1>が最適であると結論された。
abstract
The effects of culture density on the growth and fecal production of the oyster Crassostrea gigas in Hiroshima Bay were estimated using a numerical model expressing physiological processes of the oyster by changing the rate of water exchange into and out of the cultivation raft. While the individual-based growth of oyster was higher with decreasing culture density, total production was highest with 850 wires per raft. The individual-based fecal production increased with decreasing culture density, but the total amount of fecal production was highest with 950 wires per raft. From these results, it was concluded that 850 wires per raft was the appropriate cultivation density under the environmental conditions of Hiroshima Bay with no consideration of sediment deterioration.
