Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop a new program to shift one’s viewpoint and to broaden one’s perspective on interpersonal relationships. Several vignettes are made to show relational aggression among students. In each vignette, the main character feels unpleasant feeling because of relational aggression-like behavior of another character such as ignoring in an ambiguous situation. After two pilot studies, 23 college students were asked to join the program. They read vignettes and were asked to speculate various types of reasons why the other character did so if s/he does not have any hostile intention toward the main character. The number of produced reasons, as well as the number of the variety of reasons, significantly increased when participants speculated in groups. The availability of the program is discussed.
