広島大学では、2006年4月に機関リポジトリである広島大学学術情報リポジトリ(HiR)を立ち上げ、2006年12月6日現在で1,945件の教育研究コンテンツを公開している。本稿では、私たちが行った研究者への個別訪問による初期コンテンツの収集について、また、学内刊行物の収集やデータベースを用いた最新論文の提供依頼、機関リポジトリ活用のための工夫などによって継続的にコンテンツを収集し、機関リポジトリを育て続けていくための戦略について述べる。

Hiroshima University launched its institutional repository called Hiroshima University Institutional Repository in April 2006, and by December 6, 2006 it had made 1,945 items of scholarly research available to the public. This paper reports on the methods used to recruit content beginning with visiting individual faculty members, to requesting copies of university publications and recent articles in databases. A variety of innovations are necessary to recruit content on an ongoing basis so that the institutional repository can continue to grow and develop.
