abstract | In January this year, we invited many scholars and researchers to define 'peace'. This was because we thought that the concept of peace was rather vague and confused, and that some conceptual reconstruction was in order. Some ten scholars have answered our request, and the following are the definitions of peace they gave. We hope that they will help readers construct or reconstruct their own concept of peace.
