Abstract |
In this paper, I picked up Katsumi Masuda’s statement about clssical literature education. Through these statements, I point out something as below. (1) Masuda considered classical education as classical literature education. (2) Masuda considered classical education as human formation. (3) Masuda has students read the way of view and thinking of the author’s thing from the classical literature. (4) Masuda has students read the activity of the characters from the classical literature. (5) The background of Masuda’s idea was the cultural movement of the 1950s.
