The purpose of this study is to clarify motivations that primary school teachers choose and participate in-service training of physical education outside school. Besides we propose about the function for which primary school teacher ask the training of physical education. As the result, primary school teachers asked for the following three points as inservice training. First, it is acquiring the knowledge of "new course of study", and the knowledge in connection with teaching physical education, such as "activities" and a "teaching". Secondly, it is "making relations with other teachers" who also search for physical education. Third, it is getting to know "the concrete practice example" which other teachers taught. Moreover, the following two points can be considered as a function of the training outside school. First, it is assistance to teachers who cannot receive enough mentoring by the training inside school. Second, it is bringing up of the leader at the training inside school.
